"Paula Everitt suggests form
in her drawings and paintings. But the ruling spirit is compassion
for her subjects victims of honor killings, people
in desperate medical need, severely disabled children.
As a graduate of the Pennsylvania
Academy of the Fine Arts, Everitt was immersed in classical
representation. She began to move beyond that about four years
ago, when she accompanied her husband, Dan, a doctor who researches
tropical diseases, to Guatemala. Paula volunteered in a ward
that cared for disabled children at the San Hermano Pedro
Hospital in Antigua.
